About Dave

I was born in 1966 on a British island off of the east coast of the United States called Bermuda.  I moved to California with my mom and dad when my dad, who was in the military, was transferred to Norton Air Force Base in San Bernardino, California in 1967.  In 1969 my bother Peter was born.  When my dad retired from the Air Force in 1976, my mom, dad, brother and I moved to Pacific Beach in San Diego.  I went to Pacific Beach Elementary, Pacific Beach Junior High, and Mission Bay High schools. At U.C.S.D. I majored in Economics and minored in Music.  My teaching credential and Master’s Degree are from the United States International University in San Diego.  I began my teaching career at Audubon Elementary where I taught three years of K/1, one year of fifth grade and one year of third grade.  I taught third grade at Grant Elementary from 1996 through 2003.  In 2003 I began teaching Kindergarten at Grant.  I live in a condo in Pacific Beach.  I help my beautiful wife Erinn raise two kids, Zach and Maddie.

When I am not teaching I like to surf, read, take photos, go for bike rides, rollerblade, skateboard, play Frisbee, play Burnout 3 on PS2, go to church, play the piano, drums, and guitar, and be with my friends.  My favorites are; blue, surfing, Lumpia, spring rolls, 60’s cars, fruit, Soy milk, teaching, God, big blocks, the ocean, being outside, and sunny days.  The things that I don’t like are; peas, lima beans, cloudy days, 70’s cars, four cylinders, standing in one place, rooms with no windows, losing things, walking slowly while shopping, and bad sound systems.
